The Machine Knitters Guild of the San Francisco Bay Area supports the art and craft of machine knitting through engaging activities and charitable programs.

Living in the Bay Area is not a requirement for membership, but we’d love to meet you in person. All meetings are conducted on Zoom, usually with an in-person meeting as well. We held successful weekend retreats in February 2025 and 2026, and hope to repeat that in the future. Our monthly newsletter provides members with up to date information.
The location of the meetings has varied over the years; in 2025 and 2026 most meetings were held at Ygnacio Valley Library in Walnut Creek, CA. But that location is unavailable in 2026-27.
Our meetings begin at 10:00 AM, on the second Saturday of each month. The first section of our meeting includes a discussion of guild business, sharing of our “makes,” design ideas and machine knitting techniques. The second part of our meeting usually includes an invited guest speaker from around the world of machine knitting. The speaker may be here in person or join us via Zoom. Note that depending upon where the speaker is located, we may “flip” our schedule and have the presenter start at 10:00 AM.
