Charity

Guild members are invited to knit for Charity.  Items of all descriptions are gratefully received by various hospitals and charities in our area.  Our goal is to provide a stream of donated items to the appropriate charities.  To date, our members have enthusiastically embraced these projects.  After all, knitting a child’s hat or a baby blanket on a knitting machine is a matter of minutes, not hours.  Infant blankets, slippers and sweaters for children of all ages are always needed.  It is best to make them out of something other than wool, so they are easily washable.  Your wool items will also be greatly appreciated, and they will be donated to "Afghans for Afghans".  Those of you wishing to try out a "doggie" sweater are encouraged to donate those as well.  There are lots of doggies in shelters that need "doggie" sweaters.  Thanks to our generous members, we have a supply of yarn donated for this purpose.  Members are invited to select yarn and directions for a project and see what they can create.
