With the exceptions of September 11th, October 9th and January 8th all dates fall on the first Saturday of the month. No meetings are scheduled for July and August of 2011

Paola Trombetta
Paola is a native of Genoa, Italy. She moved to San Francisco where she currently resides with her husband. She has a BA in Bookkeeper and Public Accountant, and Adult Education Teaching Credential. Paola comes to us with a vast array of experience and accomplishments. Here is a sampling: - Hand and Machine Knitting Instructor at San Mateo Adult School, Chabot College, Alameda Adult School, and City College of San Francisco. - Performed knitting workshop at the Mendocino Art Center. - Instructor and M.F.A. Advisor at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. - Organized and Performed a seminar for "Levi Strauss & Co." in San Francisco, with particular emphasis on quality control in knitwear production. - As an authorized Brother and Studio knitting machine dealer I performed various seminars at knitting guilds in California. - After winning the 1981 competition to teach at the "Vespertine School" in Genoa, Italy, I taught design and manufacture of knitwear at one of only three such schools in Italy offering this particular instruction. - Employed by Francesco Sanzo Knitwear a firm in Genoa, Italy, as an Instructor and Designer of made to order knitwear. I was also responsible for the sales and servicing of industrial and home knitting machines. - Exhibited my work exclusively at Black Mountain Artisan Boutique in Point Reyes, - Designed and produced an ECO line of knitwear using Fox Fiber Cotton for F.H.Naturals, a company that sells nationwide through stores such as Patagonia and by catalogue. - Design consultant and sample maker for Randy Allen's RHerd label knitwear collection. - Exhibit my own line in various local sales and Craft Shows (“The best of Art and Crafts”, “Art in Fashion”, “Contemporary Craft Market”, “KPFA”, “Celebration of Craft women”, “American Art Festival”, etc.). - Engaged in production, design and manufacture of upscale garments, for Periwinkle Knitwear in San Francisco and other designers in the Bay Area - Employed by Janet Lipkin to produce high quality knitwear for exhibit of her work at the 1990 ACC, Fort Mason.
MORNING SESSION Paola will demonstrate how to create a neckline without having to scrap-off, using short rowing techniques. She will also demonstrate how to create flair and darts.
AFTERNOON SESSION She will start with a lesson on vertical, horizontal, and appliqué pockets with single or double bands. Then vertical and horizontal easy buttonholes. She will end with an “ask me anything session.” If there is something you have been longing to figure out, here is your opportunity to have it answered.
